We thought it would be fun to put a list of frequently asked questions together. We get asked these questions from every bride and groom and thought they should have a home on our website. If you can think of any other good questions, please leave us a comment and we’ll be sure to give it an answer!

Q: What style do you specialize in?
A: Our style has been described as fun, funky, fresh. We are mainly photo-journalistic photographers. We stay away from a lot of the traditional concepts of wedding photography, and focus more on creating images that reflect a more modern feel, something that may appear in a magazine. We also strive to bring out your natural chemistry. Your wedding is all about you and capturing the moments as they happen.

Q: Do we have to have an engagement session? What if we’ve already had one? How long do they last?
A: Yes, no exceptions. This is our time to get to know you. This is your time to get to know us. This is our time to bond, to laugh, to share stories. This is a great opportunity for us to size up the type of couple that you are, to observe your natural chemistry together, feel the vibe of it, and pull it out in all different directions. This also allows us to photograph you from all different directions, to see from what angles you photograph the best, and then use these observations on your wedding day to make your photographs all the more stunning. There is no set time limit. Past times have ranged from 1-3 hours. “WOW,” you might say – that’s a pretty big gap. Yes, but this variance is dependent upon how much time we feel is necessary to really capture who we feel you are as a couple. Some couples are born camera stars and just love being in front of a camera, whereas others may tend to be more camera shy and may require more time to settle them into their comfort zone.

Q: Will you be available to discuss the wedding day photographs prior to the date of the wedding?
A: Yes, we love getting together with the bride and groom at least 4 to 2 weeks before the wedding. We are also always available by phone or email.

Q: Do you have an assistant?
A: Yes, our second two packages include a second photographer. We definitely recommend an assistant or second shooter for better lighting techniques as well as larger weddings that require longer days.

Q: How many pictures will you take?
A: Every wedding is different so it varies, but we usually deliver 100 images for every hour we are at the wedding.

Q: Will you accept of list for specific photos to be taken?
A: We always capture the usual events of every wedding. If there is something unique about your wedding please let me know and we’ll be sure to capture it. The only list that I usually need is who you want in your family photos. Be sure to designate someone who knows your guests to gather them on the day of the wedding.

Q: How long after the wedding will the proofs be ready?
A: Your online gallery is posted approximately 4 weeks after the wedding date, unless special circumstances arise, then it may take a little longer. Should there be any delay, we will notify you asap, and most definitely with a good reason.

Q: If I decide I have to cancel or reschedule my wedding can I have my retainer refunded?
A: Unfortunately not. The retainer and all payments are non-refundable, non-transferable. The retainer reserves your date for you, and TSL turns down all other bookings for that date.

Q: What happens if, for some unforeseen event, you can not make the wedding?
A: Luckily, TSL has a team of great photographers. One of us can always cover for the other. Otherwise, we also network with some really fabulous wedding photographers. We have an emergency list if anything happens to one of us. We will ensure that someone will be photographing your wedding that is at our skill level or better.

Q: Do you have backup equipment available?
A: You better believe it!

Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A: Of course! We accept all major credit cards.

Q: Do you have a gift registry?
A: Yes, every couple has their own registry as a TSL client. This is great for letting your family and friends buy you prints, frames, canvas, thank you cards, and more album pages. You’ll receive a credit in a dollar amount that you can use when your wedding gallery is online.

Q: Will you give us the negatives/digital photos or what is the charge?
A: A DVD of all high resolution, color corrected JPGs is included in every wedding package.

Q: What time should I schedule my ceremony?
A: This is a great question, a very important question, actually. Before finalizing what time your ceremony shall commence, please talk with us about this, as many factors go into determining what the ideal time would be for your particular wedding.

Q: Do you offer a referral program?
A: Yes! Most of my business is word of mouth and comes from referrals. If you refer another couple, you and the couple will receive a $300/wedding print credit upon the referred booking as a thank you for your kindness.:)Just be sure to mention it, so that we can give you credit where credit is due!

Q: Can we put our photos on Facebook?
A: Of course! We love that – we actually encourage it, as it helps spread the love for our company! We would also love for you to join our Fan Page, so that you can stay in touch with us and the happenings of our ever-evolving business.
