Mark & Mia {Ten Year Anniversary Shoot}

Mark and Mia are from Alaska! Brr! Especially this time of year. If you live in Las Vegas, like me, then you know how lucky we are to have such mild winters here. However, they have gorgeous summers in Alaska, where, we, on the other hand, roast horribly in this heat!

They were excited to come down to California and Las Vegas to celebrate their 10 year wedding anniversary together. Their session took place at the Neon Museum (aka The Neon Boneyard) just before sunset – and the lighting was pure perfection!

They are absolutely adorable together! They’ve never, ever had professional photos together, not even at their own wedding, believe it or not! So, they were both pretty excited to get in front of my camera for a fun and romantic portrait session!

Your Beauty Call did a fabulous job getting Mia all glammed up – she looked fantastic!

Thank you both so much for reaching out to me to capture this special time in your lives! I had a blast photographing your Las Vegas photo session!

xoxo,

Suzi

Going to Whole Foods

I took these photos a few weeks ago of some of the groceries I bought at Whole Foods. Why would I do something like that, you ask? Well, this is part of a journey. It’s  a road my family has taken to get our son, Isaiah, well.

He has autism.

Although having a child with autism is a HUGE challenge and tests your patience multiple times out of each day, Isaiah is nevertheless a HUGE blessing. He is helping our family to eat better, and take time to  spend quality family time together.

During this particular shopping trip at Whole Foods, I also picked up some adorable Toms – shoes on a mission. These shoes are so comfy, and I’m happy that my purchase of them paid for a child in need to have a pair of their own. Aren’t they cute?

Eat well. Be well. Spend time with those you love and cherish. Time is short.

XOXO,

Suzi

Reminiscing on My Own Wedding

I lost my wedding disc for a long time and came across it recently. So, I thought it would be fun to post some photos from my own wedding. Yes, I know these are super low-budget pics! I tried to edit and clean them up as best as I could. LOL.

Terrence and I were married at Lakeside Weddings. It was love at first sight for us. We loved the property. It was so NOT Vegas, and that’s what we loved about it. So, here’s a little glimpse into our non-Vegas Vegas wedding.  Enjoy!

Here’s a photo of my dad walking me down the aisle. I adore the look on his face in this one! And right next to it is us dancing together during the Father/Daughter Dance. We danced to “My Girl.”Now that my dad has passed away, it’s nice to see that the photographer paid some attention to just my parents together. That was really special, and it’s nice to have these photos of them together.:)Check out this beauty – vintage Rolls Royce. It was actually included in our package with Lakeside Weddings. I loved, loved, loved this car!!! It was the perfect get-away car for us! After we left, we were chauffeured across The Strip (Las Vegas Blvd) on our way to our honeymoon suite.

2011 Photographer of the Year!!

The Las Vegas Wedding Awards is a culmination of honor, recognition, and appreciation of those who have made a difference in the Las Vegas Wedding industry, and who have demonstrated exemplary professionalism with dignity and respect, and more importantly, make most of us proud to be in this business. We had some pretty stiff competition this year, but are super psyched that we took home the gold! Thank you to Las Vegas Bride for hosting an amazing night that was full of glitz, glam, amazing food, top-notch charity events, and great friends!Wow, this was an unexpected win! What a fantastic night for TSL Photography and Lighten Films! We couldn’t be more thankful that we were chosen for the Las Vegas 2011 Photographer of the Year award and the Las Vegas 2011 Cinematographer of the Year award. This was an incredible year for us both! Thanks to all of our clients, fans and supporters! We are truly so honored by these prestigious awards!

(Oh, and please don’t judge these photographs. Terrence is a great cinematographer, but he hasn’t yet mastered photography yet, LOL…)

Jackie + Ryan {the wedding}

Jackie and Ryan are so awesome – truly so laid-back and easy going! They wed at Anthem Country Club on such a beautiful October day here in Las Vegas! The weather couldn’t have been more gorgeous! Jackie got ready at the beautiful Green Valley Ranch Resort and Hotel.

I love this shot of Jackie checking her hair out in the mirror, with her dad spying in on his daughter.Whitney from One Luv Agency made all the ladies extra lovely with make-up.This is the first time Jackie saw herself in the mirror after she was in her wedding gown! As you can tell, she wasn’t excited at all…;)Jackie was really trying to soak in the fact that today was the “big day” for her!The gorgeous floral arrangements were done by Marisha Floral.Jackie’s mom couldn’t wait to make a “petals-angel” down the ceremony aisle!! {Don’t worry – she waited until after the ceremony was over};)The green-screen photo booth we put on was another huge success! The guests had such a fun time, and really loved their matted prints they got to take home!:)

This is one of the last images I snagged of the night. This magical moment took place during the last dance, and was of the parents of the bride. Truly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone’s parents more in love than Jackie’s – you guys are an inspiration to all married couples!
